Whisstone, the solution against traffic noise

Noise reduction by diffracting elements

Stap 1

Sound waves arise by contact between tires and the pavement. The waves move to the side of the pavement and create noise pollution.

Step 2

The Whisstone is an innovative and sustainable concrete system, equipped with grooves of diverse depths that are tuned to the resonation frequency of the traffic noise.

Step 3

The horizontal sound waves move over the Whisstone and the resonating molecules transform down the grooves. When the resonating molecules move back up the grooves, they collide with the horizontal sound waves.

Step 4

The horizontal sound waves move over the Whisstone and the resonating molecules transform down the grooves. When the resonating molecules move back up the grooves, they collide with the horizontal sound waves.

Traffic noise is inconvenient and potentially damaging

4Silence stands for reducing noise pollution by traffic. Sustainable noise reduction, innovative solutions, scientifically founded, proven results. The Whisstone is the first, but certainly not the last innovation that we have developed.

Different scientific studies show that noise pollution caused by traffic is not only inconvenient. When people experience higher levels of stress or sleep badly due to the pollution, it is even damaging.
